The Fall Meeting and Sale for Region 21 (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, NWT, Nunavut, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) of the American Iris Society is in Johnston, Iowa on August 5th and 6th, 2011.  Full details are:

Irises Across Iowa will be part of the Iowa State Horticultural Society's (ISHS) Expo March 19-20, 2010, in Ottumwa, IA.  We recently became an affiliate of ISHS and will have a booth at the Expo.  See the ISHS website for further details on the exhibition, speakers, demonstrations, and vendors as well as how to reach the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa.  Please stop by and say hello!

Our founding meeting held May 31, 2009 was hosted by Kelly Norris at Rainbow Iris Farm.  They provided a great meal and an outstanding chance to see many of their irises in bloom.  Thank you for their hospitality.  Here are a few of the irises we saw.

Founding of Irises Across Iowa

Irises Across Iowa (IAI) was formed May 31, 2009 with the purpose of promoting the culture, propagation, and hybridization of the numerous forms and varieties of our favorite flower, the Iris, throughout the state of Iowa.

Membership is open to all. IAI dues are waived for American Iris Society members and are waived the first year for all others.

Current American Iris Society members can join IAI by asking to be added to the the Irises Across Iowa membership list.

IAI will have meetings in conjunction with the Annual Iris Sale and the Annual Garden Tour. All other meetings and business will be conducted by e-mail.
